Description:
This is a good looking and well-made, non-standard bayonet with typical late 18th century American flanged shank construction. The bayonet measures 15 11/16" overall, with a 12" angular blade, 1 1/2" shank, and a 3 3/8" long socket of approximately .80 caliber, and having an unusually narrow mortise. The metal has an overall pitted plum-brown patina with areas of mild surface oxidation scattered throughout. This is a great looking Rev War era bayonet, in very good overall condition, and would make a wonderful addition to any collection.
