"NSN, circa 1809-1813, .75 caliber, 39"" proofed smoothbore barrel. Barrel and other iron parts are a dark grey patina with light pin-prick oxidation noted. Barrel is stamped with""G2883, lock plate is marked with Crown/GR, Broad Arrow/Crown"" forward of the hammer. Rear of hammer is marked "" Tower"". Stock looks to have had replaced wood forward of large trumpet, expected nicks and dings are visible. Handsome Broad Arrow/ ""B O""/""1831"" is stamped on the leftside of the butt stock. Action holds at half and full cock.
