"NSN, made in 1835, .69 caliber, 45"" round ""US"" marked and proofed smoothbore barrel. One of 940 delivered in 1835 to the state of New Jersey under contract. Barrel and other iron parts are a smooth brown patina. Barrel is marked with ""US/JM/P/NJ"", tang is marked with ""1835"". Lock plate is marked ""U.S./M.T.WICKHAM"" forward of hammer. Rear is marked ""Phil/1835"", original traces of ""tobacco brown"" finish remains on the trigger guard. Stock shows nicks, dings and mars, handsome cartouche is visible. Crack is noticeable forward of the front lock screw. Action hold at half and full cock.
