Description:
Handsome and great handling Italian-made Renato Gamba 12 gauge boxlock ejector game gun. Profusely hand engraved action scalloped action, highly figured Circassian walnut stock and forearm, single non-selective trigger, disc set strikers, manual safety, and automatic ejectors. Made in 1978 this boxlock ejector game gun is in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition. Presented in its leather case with maker’s label and accessories including keys and gunsocks. Easy to carry for a day afield at 6lb 11oz.
The quick handling 27” barrels are chambered for 2-3/4” shotshells. Knowledgeable shooters understand how effective shorter barrels are in thick upland cover for grouse, woodcock, and quail. They are topped by a raised solid tapered crosshatched rib. The top of the left barrel is inscribed “Oxford” above “Mannlicher – Renato Gamba”. The bores are shiny and bright and the bluing is in very good condition. The right barrel is bored 0.728 with a constriction of 0.010 for Improved Cylinder choke. The left barrel is bored 0.725 and has a constriction of 0.030 for Improved Modified choke.
The straight hand stock and splinter forearm are made of highly figured Circassian walnut. Stock dimensions are 14-3/4” including a 7/8” recoil pad by 1-1/4” by 1-3/4”. Cast off for the righthanded shooter.
This handsome and quick handling Italian-made upland game gun is in excellent condition and is ready for action on the range or in the field. A lot of gun for not a lot of money.
