(2) SPENCER CIVIL WAR RIFLE BARRELED ACTIONS. SERIAL NO.'S 7571 AND 8203. BOTH OF THESE RIFLES WERE MOST LIKELY ISSUED TO THE 8TH INDIANA CAVALRY. THEY ORIGINALLY WERE THE 39TH MOUNTED INFANTRY. THEY FOUGHT RIGHT NEXT TO WILDERS BRIGADE AT THE BATTLE OF CHICKAMAUGA IN SEPT. 1863. BOTH HAVE TOTALLY FUNCTIONING ACTIONS. BORES HAVE GREAT RIFLING AND 8203 IS PRETTY SHINEY.
