Colt Cowboy Single Action 5½” BBL, Model: CB1850, #30 of only 300 made! Production Year: 2000. Sitting Bull Tribute Revolver issued by America Remembers. Engraved & Inlaid 24ct. Gold w/ Original Optional Extra Wooden Display Case and Original Blue Colt Box. UPC: 098289009333. This Weapon has never been fired.

An elegantly decorated Single Action Revolver honoring Sitting Bull, legendary Sioux leader, warrior and man of vision.

Sitting bull – his name and exploits were legendary even during his lifetime. A heroic and inspirational Sioux leader, he fearlessly led his people in their battle to retain their right to live freely on the Western plains in harmony with nature. It was Sitting Bull’s vision of Indian warriors triumphing against the U.S soldiers that inspired the Indian warriors assembled on the Little Bighorn to prepare for battle against the U.S. Army. His triumphant vision became a reality with their subsequent resounding victory over the Seventh Cavalry under the command of General George Custer on the banks of the Little Bighorn.

After the Little Bighorn, Sitting Bull continued to resist the U.S. government’s efforts to settle him and his followers into Canada. However, the disappearance of the great herds of buffalo signaled an end to the nomadic way of life for sitting bull and other Indian tribes throughout the Western frontier. AS sitting bull noted, “A cold wind blew across the prairie – when the last buffalo fell – a death wind for my people.”

After settling on a reservation, Sitting Bull had another vision that would come to fruition years later. His vision foretold, “Your own people, Lakotas, will kill you.” Sadly, this vision also accurately portended the future. in 1890, the U.S. government was concerned about the Ghost Dance movement. to stop Sitting Bull from participating or encouraging his followers, Lakota policemen were sent to detail him. In the ensuing attempt to arrest Sitting Bull, he was shot and killed by one of the Lakota policemen. It was a sad ending for a leader who had wanted only the best for his followers, and who had valiantly led them in their struggle to remain free.

Craftsmen commissioned specifically by America Remembers for this Tribute have created a masterpiece honoring this Native American legendary leader. The recoil shield features a classic portrait of Sitting Bull. Old West enthusiasts will immediately recognize the image which captures the proud and determined face of the legendary Sioux leader. To complement this image of Sitting Bull , the barrel, frame, cylinder, and backstrap are tastefully decorated with Western images, with the barrel featuring the title Sitting Bull. The revolver is nickel finished and the artwork is featured in 24-karat gold with a special blackened patina highlighting the details of the artwork. Additionally, the hammer and trigger are polished and decorated in gold to add a finishing touch to the design.
The recoil shield features a classic image of Sitting Bull and the individual edition number, from 001-300, featured on the backstrap. Each revolver now available in this edition is produced for us by the master craftsmen of Uberti, who have expertly created this classic firearm just as they have created so many of the western classics since 1959, and have established themselves as the premier maker of historical firearms recreations. For decades, their craftsmen have combined modern high-grade materials with the time-honored methods of finishing creating exquisite, working reproductions of history’s greatest firearms.
