Colt Grand African originally shipped in .458 win mag on March 26 1975 with the following features African Bubinga wood with high gloss polyurethane finish, 18 lines per inch checkering, rosewood for end tip and grip cap with black recoil pad. The gun was sent back to J P Sauer and was rebarreled to the Popular chambering of .458 Lott this was done at the customers request therefore the new barrel does not exhibit the Colt VP proof mark but does have all proof marks from the German Proof House applied at time of the rebarrel . Rifle remains in like new condition with a very small chip
