Whitworth (Manchester, England) African Series Model 458 Win. Mag. bolt action rifle built using an Interarms Mark X Mauser action and 23" barrel (gloss blued.) European dark walnut stock with very nice graining, ebony forend tip, cross-bolted. Silvers-style red recoil pad featuring the Whitworth logo. Open sights have clear witness marks for instant visual verification. 3 leaf folding express sight regulated for 100, 200, and 300 yds on a quarter-rib style raised mount. Pistol grip cap case hardened with contoured profile. RCBS stoned action and feed ramp for smoothness, trigger worked to crisp lightened pull. Barrel band for sling. Both wood and metal in Excellent condition. (3) boxes of factory ammo included. Gun fired approximately 30 times. Ex PH gun used on 6 land hippo, 3 buff, all 1 shot follow on kills. Perfect for any of the Big 5. Hornady SF ammo puts it in a class 150 fps less than a .458 Lott. Weight 8 lbs. 7 ounces. Superb accuracy (even w/ the open sights to 200 yards). Gun is a pleasure to shoot with normal .458 Wi n. Mag., a bit stronger with Hornady SF.
