Description:
A super rare 86-gun Ruger serial #64 gun collection with 25% of the collection dating back to the 1970’s and 1980’s. This incredible collection was amassed by the infamous GR “Dick” Shaw, Executive VP of Weaver Scopes, VP of Olin Industries (Winchester), sales manager for the western US and the entire country of Canada and a director of the Sturm, Ruger company. This collection was later added to by Fred McDaniel, a contributing writer for the journal of the Ruger Collectors Association. From extensive research by other Ruger enthusiasts and collectors, this is probably the second or third largest collection of low-numbered Rugers outside of the factory and Ruger family collections.

This special collection includes several guns that are 1-of-2 known, 1-of-11 known, 1-of-500 known, etc. For example, the model 10/22 International manufactured in 1982 with a scare uncheckered walnut stock, grip cap, and gold bead front sight was made with a special serial number for G.R. "Dick" Shaw is the only one in existence. Several are listed as “extremely rare”, “rare”, “scarce” or “very scarce.”

Several firearms are in unopened boxes while others remain in the original factory box and shipping sleeves. In addition to the 86-gun Ruger serial #64 collection are a number of collectors items such as the Ruger W.R. Case Cutlery Company display case with 8 Ruger-Case knives, the Ruger “Bicentennial” beer mug dated back to 1976, a Ruger banner used at the S.H.O.T. Show, and numerous other scarce pieces of Ruger memorabilia.

Most importantly, this collection comes with an extensive 3-ring binder that includes an inventory list of every gun in the collection, original receipts and factory invoices, personal letters from Dick Shaw, and other official Ruger documents. This collection is a must-have for the serious Ruger enthusiast!
