Description:
The Model 1894 Century Limited Edition lever action rifle was manfactured by Marlin Firearms Company in 1994 (only) to celebrate the 100th year anniversary of the continuous manufacture of the popular Model 1894. This commemorative piece was issued only in the original caliber, .44-40WCF, and only 2,500 units were built. The gun features a 24 inch tapered octagon barrel with a full length 12 shot tube magazine, and a Giovanelli engraved receiver, bolt and lever, all case colored using traditional methods. The forearm and straight stock have beautiful graining and are checkered with a brass crescent buttplate. This gun was originally used by a Cowboy Action shooter for competitions, but was only used for one season (he switched to shooting .45LC for faster target reacquisition).
The owner past away in 2005, and it has sat in his gun safe ever since. His widow recently decided to sell off his remaining guns and asked me to assist her with the sale. The gun probably has between 500-600 rounds through it. The bluing is worn slightly around the muzzle and the stock has a few minor dings on it. There is little to no apparent wear on the loading gate finish. The bore is in excellent condition. Overall, the gun is approximately 90-92% of it's original, new condition. There is no box or paperwork included with the sale...firearm only.
