Description:

The Rare Terni Carcano M1891 is an Italian bolt-action rifle, originally designed by Salvatore Carcano and produced by the Italian arms manufacturer, the Terni Arsenal, in the late 19th century. It was chambered in 6.5—52mm Carcano, a cartridge specifically developed for the rifle.

The M1891 features a distinctive, straight-pull bolt action, which was relatively innovative at the time. The rifle has a full-length wooden stock, a rear sight adjustable for range, and a relatively short barrel compared to other military rifles of the era. The metal parts, including the receiver, barrel, and bolt, are typically finished with a blued or parkerized coating. The rifles overall design is somewhat bulky, with a pronounced bayonet lug, and a removable clip that holds 6 rounds.

The M1891 was used extensively by the Italian army during World War I and World War II. It is known for its reliability and simplicity, although the 6.5mm cartridge it fires has been criticized for its relatively low power compared to other military calibers of the time. Nonetheless, the Carcano M1891 remains a notable piece of Italian military history.

This Carcano rifle has minor surface wear or light rust shows signs of age but retains much of its original character and functionality. These imperfections, however, are generally superficial and do not significantly affect the rifles performance. The blued or parkerized finish may appear slightly faded or uneven, giving the metal a weathered, antique look, but the underlying structure remains intact.

The wooden stock may also show signs of use, such as small dings, scratches, or wear along the edges, but these marks are generally minimal and do not detract from the overall appearance. The stock retains its classic shape and finish, although there may be slight discoloration or light cracks in the wood from years of handling. The rifle still operates smoothly, with the bolt have been show in the pictures.
