This rifle was manufactured circa 1955 and has all H&R parts: 1955 dated barrel, "HRA / .U." bolt, rear sight, modified op-rod, trigger group, hammer, and safety. The metal retains 90-92% of the parkerized finish with silvering and gray fading at the muzzle, on some of the projections and edges, on the bearing surfaces of the bolt, and inside the op-rod raceway. The walnut stock and handguards are in fine shape with crisp DOD Eagle cartouche, and some scattered light handling marks and blemishes in the otherwise fine military oil finish. The stock compartment contains a plastic oiler, plastic grease jar, and segmented cleaning rod with handle. An OD canvas M1 sling is installed, and a white plastic rear sight cover is also included. The rifle was purchased from the CMP by the previous owner as a "Correct Grade" rifle, and a paper tag attached to the forward sling swivel lists the parts and part numbers, however the CMP paperwork mentioned on the tag is no longer present. Nevertheless, this is a great post-Korean War H&R Garand that is in fine-near excellent condition overall. FFL or C&R; Price: $2,595.00 |
