Description:
***   REDUCED   ***    Sturdy and great handling William Powell & Son 12 bore Anson & Deeley boxlock ejector no. 11777 made in 1906. Has highly figured nitro Damascus barrels and nicely figured European walnut stock and forearm. Has double triggers, automatic ejectors, top extension, and auto safety. The gun is tight on face and the ejectors are strong and timed. It is in very good mechanical condition but could stand some refinishing on the action body and frame. Easy to carry for a day afield at 6lb 7oz. This English double is perfect for the avid and hard-hunting upland gunner.

The 29” barrels are made of highly figured nitro Damascus and are chambered for 2-1/2” shotshells. Rumors to the contrary notwithstanding low pressure 2-1/2” cartridges are available in the US from ARMUSA, Game Bore, and from RST. The barrels are topped by a raised solid gamestyle rib which is inscribed “William Powell & Son 35 Carrs Lane Birmingham.” The finish and figure on the barrels is outstanding. The bores are shiny and bright. The right barrel is bored 0.733 with a constriction of 0.006 for Skeet choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.024. The left barrel is bored 0.735 and has a constriction of 0.022 for Modified choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.023.

The straight grip stock is most likely an historic replacement and along with the original forearm is made of straight figured European walnut. The buttstock has drop points and a checkered butt. The splinter forearm has an Anson push release and a few dents. The checkering on both shows wear. Stock dimensions are 14-1/2” to a checkered butt by 1-1/2” by 2-1/8”. Cast off for the righthand shot.
