At 125+ years old, this rifle is a real survivor.
26" barrel has very good bore and rifling: Complete, well defined lands and grooves, with only mild darkness/light roughness, even all the way down. We'd rate it at 90%
All factory wood and metal finishes, in very good condition.
Barrel and mag tube rust blue is very nice, with small, scattered corrosion patches. Nice sharp edges on the Octagon profile.
Receiver case colors pretty well faded/patinated, except in protected areas. Butt plate colors completely faded/corroded-away.
Wood is solid front and back, with zero evidence of sanding or refinishing. Good amount of factory varnish remaining. Wood is tight and crisp to the inletting. Scattered dings and nicks.
Clean action interior, smooth cycling.
We had this professionaly dismantled, detail cleaned/lubed. Found matching numbers, replaced a broken firing pin, now good to go.
Gets a big thumbs-up from the gunsmith.

Proper front and rear sights still present.
"JM" stamped on barrel.
