Forend fully checkered with small chip missing adjacent to the reciever on the left as pictured. 14" LOP to a leather covered pad. DAC-1 3/4" DAH-2 3/8" Neutral cast. 6lb 9oz This gun is tight and on face. Both forend and buttstock are solid and free of repairs. Nice stock dimmensions. Engraving remains crisp. Mr. Owen entered the gun business in about 1922 and initally used the "Owen Bros., Sauquoit, N.Y." moniker hoping that his brothers would join him in the business. According to Michael Petrov, author of "Custom Gunmakers of the 21st Century" probably only a dozen or so rifles were thus marked. I suspect even fewer shotguns. Marking was shortly changed to "R.G. Owen, Sauquoit, N.Y." This is definitely a nice and rare piece of Americana. Price: $5,350.00 |
