Description:
"NSN. Made circa 1840. 45 caliber guns with 8.5" barrels. These are very nice sharp guns with nicely browned barrels retaining most of there finish. The barrels are unmarked except for a Birmingham proof on the underside of the barrel. The breech plugs are nicely engraved and have a gold band. The locks are nicely engraved and are marked “SOUTHALL" for Richard Southall who worked in Birmingham from 1820-1845. The trigger guards are nicely engraved have original blue. One gun has much more blue on the trigger guard than the other. The stocks have cross hatch checkering on very deluxe wood. . These guns come in a partially form fitted casing with their accessories.
