"NSN. Made circa 2750. 64 caliber with a 35" barrel. This is a beautiful well documented Italian Snaphance pictured in the book One Hundred Great Guns by Merrill Lindsay. This gun was also in the collection of Joe Kindig Jr. Mr. Kindig was a prolific collector of Antiques, American furniture and firearms whose gun collection numbered approximately 1,000 extraordinary pieces. The metal has a light gray to brown patina on the barrel. The lock and furniture have all been cleaned. The barrel features chiseled silver shrouds that feature a soldiers head and a lion with crown. The stock is high relief carved on both sides. This is truly a magnificent gun that was in the famous Kindig collection which was certainly one of the finest collections ever assembled and also in a book about spectacular gun!
