This Heckler & Koch P7K3 is an exceptional example of one of HK’s most unique and sought-after pistols. Manufactured in 1987, this variant of the legendary P7 series was designed as a modular, blowback-operated pistol capable of conversion between .22 Long Rifle, .32 ACP, and .380 ACP. Chambered in .380 ACP (9mm Kurz), this rare example remains in like-new, original box condition, making it a true collector’s piece.
The P7K3 retains the iconic squeeze-cocking mechanism that sets the P7 series apart, ensuring an exceptionally safe yet fast-to-deploy firearm. The pistol is cocked by squeezing the front strap of the grip frame, providing a smooth, short trigger pull. Its ambidextrous magazine release, located on the trigger guard, makes for quick reloads, while the slide-to-frame fit is superbly tight, reflecting HK’s precision engineering. The crisp trigger, smooth action, and clear bore indicate minimal, if any, use.
This P7K3 comes complete in its original, serial number-matched hard plastic case, accompanied by its original paperwork, maintenance tool, and two original 8-round magazines. The black stippled grip panels feature an ergonomic thumb rest designed for right-handed shooters. The sights consist of an adjustable rear white-dot sight and a drift-adjustable front white-dot sight for precise aiming.
The P7 series was born out of the German government's push to replace older service pistols following the 1972 Munich Olympics massacre. The P7 competed alongside the SIG Sauer P225 (P6) and Walther P5, with the P7 standing out for its revolutionary design, safety, and rapid deployment capabilities. While production of the P7 began in 1979, the P7K3 remains one of the rarest and most collectible variants, particularly in .380 ACP.
