Serial number matches through out this firearm. Beautifully engraved receiver and checkering. Henry Atkin began building his own firearms in 1875 after working for James Purdey & Sons. Atkins opened his first store in 1877 in London. This unit closely resembles Henry Atkin's Spring Opener Sidelock. This was Atkin's first shotgun design that he retailed. Henry Atkin later merged with Stephen Grant and Joseph Lang to form Atkin Grant & Lang. This business still operates today in Hertfodshire England. Based on the proof marks, this is likely a pre World War I production. We did reach out to Atkin Grant & Lang with the serial number to verify date of production but those records have been lost. 12 Gauge Price: Was $13,999.99 Now $10,999.77 Chambers: 12 Gauge 2 1/2" Choke Metal Condition: Excellent metal condition.
