Description:

This is an early Colt conversion using some existing parts to create a conversion .38 RF pocket pistol. Because it has a 3 digit serial number makes me believe it was put together in the early 1870s at the Colt factory. It retains at least 75% of its factory blue and is mostly all matching. Let me explain, on this one the barrel, frame, trigger guard, back strap, and cylinder all share # 220. Both the loading gate and the cylinder arbor are # 243. This was a factory screw up or as we said in the trades “it was done after lunch on Friday”. The wedge is un-numbered. The cylinder has a very nice and visible stage coach scene. The pistol is 5 shot with a 4-1/2” barrel that has a real good bore.

At 78 I'm breaking up my collection of 40+ years and looking to pass on my historic pieces.
