The Weatherby Mark V comes equipped with a 9-lug locking action, with this the bolt has more bearing surface than the traditional two lug designs. Also, this rifle is equipped with a "safer safety", when the safety is in the safe position it disengages the cocking piece completely from the trigger sear.
