A Brockman Rifles Legacy Grade custom restoration of a model 97 .22 lr.
The Legacy Grade rifles are ground up restorations with attention to the smallest detail. This beautiful example is no exception. The leagacy model rifles are not meant to be brought back to factory specifications but to exceed them. In style and construction.
This example exhitbates this.
This rifle is stocked with a very dense and well figured blank of English Walnut. This type of wood is sometimes seen on special order vintage lever actions. Fitted with the original steel butt plate that is colored as well. The wood is finished with an original type finish. Over thirty coats have been worked into the wood. The checkering departs from original with the gold wire border enhancement. Over 50 hours of labor for the checkering alone.
The original metal has been hand polished. With the action parts , after being stoned and polished ,have been color cased by one of the leading shops in the country. Barrel and other parts have been slow rust blued.
The rifle sports a vintage Beech's front sight and interesting two blade rear sight.
The Legacy grade rifles are built or restored to a shooting condition, not only show pieces. This rifle is no exception.
