Description:
Made on a 0 frame and was Shipped December 1898 with 2-5/8” chambers. Gun made with 26” damascus brls that have matted concave top rib, small brass front bead, and usual rib legend. Splinter forearm checkered in standard DHE pattern with lightly engraved steel tip, Deeley latch release, and iron. Interior of iron with early period of use ejectors and have SN stamped at center. The casehardened boxlock receiver with Pointer on left, Setter on right, surrounded by fine Parker scroll and “PARKER BROS” in banner at center. Brl fences with light scroll engraving. Bottom of frame with scroll and 4 flying ducks in marsh scene. The long tang straight grip trigger guard with burst of scroll on bow, SN at tang. Gun made with double triggers, early period of use ejectors, and auto safety. The nicely straight grain figured walnut buttstock with carved teardrop behind receiver is checkered in 3 point pattern through the wrist, has unengraved silver oval towards toeline and terminates with its original crystalizing red leather faced pad. Accompanied by a PGCA research letter noting ship date, brl length, and special instructions for “STOCK EXTRA SMALL AND PUT ON HIS RUBBER BUTT”.

Condition remains Near excellent and appears untouched and original. Brls with more than 90% of their nice original pattern showing some areas of light staining. Forearm is near excellent with very good checkering and engraving. Frame is very good with about 30% light original case color remaining, engraving is very good and appears filled in just a bit from storage and time. Trigger guard with hints of original blue and has toned mostly pleasing light brown. Buttstock is very good with more than 90% of its original finish and has a couple of areas with finish added for preservation checkering remains mostly crisp and butt has scattered hunting bumps throughout. Pad is original and crystallizing. Bores are mostly bright and shiny. Left brl with a small patch of beginning orange peel ahead of chamber area. Mechanics are crisp. Gun is tight and sound. A really neat early small bore Parker with fascinating early period of use ejectors in the condition we love finding these guns in.
