Description:
One of the more interesting guns I have encountered recently - A full sidelock ejector 12 bore game gun built from the ground up by noted gun builder/restoration expert Neil Hermsen. Our client commissioned Neil more than 25 years ago to build this gun at a cost of more than $20,000 at that time and a wait time of nearly 2 years.
The gun is a 26" chopper lump barreled 12ga made as a lightweight game gun. The finely checkered splinter forend has an Anson type push button release and engraved irons. The forend was built with finly beveled edge which can be seen in the photos. The casehardened frame is beautifully engraved by Neil Hermsen in game scene and scroll/ The straight grip buttstock is very nicely figured and checkered with carved tear drops behind the sidelocks. The gun is housed in a Parker Reproductions case with canvas cover by Emmebi.
The gun shows limited use and remains near mint overall. Bores are brilliant and shiny and the gun handles nicely. Case is near mint.
