This is a nicely proportioned pistol, "LONDON" marked on the top flat of the barrel, and marked "NEWMAN" on the back-action lockplate. The barrel has an overall plum-brown patina with still visible twist pattern running its length, and bright platinum bands at the breech. The iron lock also has an overall plum-brown patina with a small amount of original blue remaining on the hammer and nipple bolster, and the captive ramrod has a mixed gray and brown patina along its length. The wedge-fastened walnut stock has small handling marks and blemishes scattered about the old oil finish, and only mild flattening of the points on the checkered grip. The lock is fully functional and the pistol is a very good-near fine example of a British percussion coat or traveling pistol. Antique Price: $1,795.00 Antique: Yes |
