On the right hand side of the grip ios a silver Mexican eagle with snake. On the top of the slide is a punch dot monogram of “WM" This gun belonged to Walter Meeks Jr of Duvall County Texas. He was the auditor of the county. Mr. Meeks was also a close personal friend of the “Duke of Duvall", George Parr. George Parr ran a political machine in Duvall county for the democratic party that insured total victory for all that Mr. Parr was for. He did this by bribery and intimidation and was ultimately charged and convicted of tax evasion. Walter Meeks Jr was a childhood friend of George Parr and was investigated because of his position in the county government and his close friendship. No charges were brought against Mr. Meeks. Accompanying this gun are two Military hats with Meeks’s name inside presumably for his service during WWII an a WWII GI Holster. Very neat Colt 1911 with South Texas HistorY
