By the mid 1970's Wichester had overcome the dismal immediate post 64 cost saving changes and these quality New Have Winchester (not Japanese) are in our opinion equal to their pre 64 cousins; with good steel, honest straight grained American Walnut Stocks and real machined, NOT stamped elevator and other internal parts. Save for some light loss of blue left side of the receiver this gun is otherwise approx perfect ..
