About Us: Recently retired, starting to sell off my militaria collection of 30 years. New to this site, but have sold on other sites for years with 100% positive feedback under same user ID. Description: Offered here is a scarce looped horn insignia in silver, designed to adorn the coat tails of infantry officers in the 1840's, In the 1840's, regulations called for insignia of the Infantry branch of service to be made in silver color. These insignia were also used singly as hat insignia by state militia forces. In the early 1850's, regulations changed, and the color for infantry insignia was changed to gold (or gilt), making these silver insignia much harder to find than the gold ones. This one is in excellent condition, and would look great in any early military collection. The Horse Soldier is currently selling one for $150 if you'd like a matched pair. Please take a look at all the photos as they provide the best description of condition. Shipping to the lower 48 contiguous states. Three day return privilege, buyer pays return shipping. Shipping $10.00 for Priority Mail insured. If you buy multiple items, I will combine to save money on shipping. Price: $85.00 |
