Description:
For sale we have a rare early war Walther '480' code model P38 pistol. The well known Walther 'AC' code was assigned to most of the wartime production pistols, but this is one of about 7250 such guns manufactured in 1940 with the early 480 Walther code. The gun is in very good overall condition with some light pitting showing around the finish on the left side of the barrel. and there are two grind marks on the left side of the slide. The left grips is numbered 875, and the right grip is 879. Since the grips are only 4 digits off, the mixup was likely at the factory. Both grips show Eagle/359 marks, as do many components of the pistol. Gun is mechanically excellent. C&R Eligible.
