Offered here for sale is a newly acquired fine 9Mm auto pistol from Smith & Wesson. ?The Smith & Wesson Model 39-2 is a semi-automatic, double-action/single-action 9mm pistol that was manufactured between 1971 and 1982a dn the first double action of its kind. Serial numbers in the A200000 range were produced around 1973-1974. The Model 39-2 was notable for its aluminum frame and was among the first semi-automatic pistols adopted by U.S. law enforcement agencies, marking a shift from revolvers to semi-automatic sidearms.?
This specimen, serial number A233978 has a 4” barrel and set up as a target gun with an adjustable rear target sight. It has seen use but retains the large majority of its finish mostly on the high points. It has its original factory magazine and the former owner, an avid target shooting enthusiast supplied the pistol with a set of Packmayr hard rubber grips for sure handling. Bore is excellent. A fine all purpose usable pistol and a vintage collectible as well.
