Important NIB Ruger SR-556 .223 Rifle SERIAL NUMBER 4
Offered here for sale is truly and important and significant firearm for the Ruger collector. With our offices in Southport, CT we are the home of the Ruger Collectors Assc. (RCA) where we have offered for almost 5 decades thousands of firearms from this manufacturer. Some of the most valued of these arms are those LOW SERIAL NUMBERED specimens which are coveted by collectors. As far as history is concerned low serial numbers like this one-NUMBER 4 was reserved for important executives, manufacturers and contractors close to Ruger, etc. and as models were introduced that designated individual was guaranteed first choice to accept that numbered model and in some cases a particular collector amassed dozens of Ruger arms bearing the same number. WE ARE FORTUNATE TO ACQUIRE THIS PARTICULAR SPECIMEN FOR THE SECOND TIME. This specimen serial number 590-00004 was probably made in the FIRST WEEK OF PRODUCTION in 2009. It is preserved in a NEW IN BOX CONDITION.
This SR-556 is chambered in 5.56 NATO/.223 Remington. It features a piston-driven operating system, which offers improved reliability and easier maintenance compared to traditional direct impingement systems. The rifle also includes a quad-rail handguard for accessory attachment and a six-position telescoping stock to accommodate user preferences. It also comes in a nice range case and with several magazines.
In addition to acquisition of the rifle we will offer a full 1 year subscription and membership to the RCA which includes a 32-page quarterly Journal and eligibility for special collectibles offered only to RCA members.
