We love these model 100's. As a semi chambered in potent and avail everywhere .308 it allows fast follow up shots when requred to prevent wounded or lost game...soft recoiling and you never have to take you're eye out of the sight picture for follow up 2d or 3d shots if needed.
There had been a firing pin redesigne with these early producton 100's and this one has has had the new pin installed. These early 100's were nicely hand checkerded at the old New Haven Ct factory 50 mins from our location, now sadly gone. Handsom straight grained American Walnut stock with deep beautifully polished blue to all metal as was typical of Winchesters work during this period .
