Offered here for sale is this newly acquired original Ruger Mk I .22 target pistol made right here a few blocks away from our retail shop and gallery in Southport, CT. The Ruger Mark I is a classic .22 caliber semi-automatic pistol that was first introduced by Sturm, Ruger & Co. in 1951. It quickly became popular due to its reliability, accuracy, and affordable price. The Mark I was the first iteration of what would become the Mark series with this specimen SN 14-67972 places the gun in the 1970s production run. likely from around 1973 to 1976.
The pistol has a 5.5-inch barrel and provides a good balance between accuracy and portability, making it a solid choice for target shooting. It features a steel construction with a distinct, ergonomic design. The pistol is known for its excellent build quality and solid performance. In addition the piece comes with a fine Bushnell Phantom 1-3X scope designed for quick target acquisition and use at various distances. This specimen has seenonly light use and we would rate it 99%. It has just some dried oil in protected spots which we will wipe off before shipping. A classic reliable vintage Ruger collectible and/or piece for the target shooting enthusiast.
