The Perfect Concealed Carry .38 S&W 49 Bodyguard Revolver
Offered here for sale is a newly acquired vintage .38 Special revolver by Smith & Wesson. The Smith & Wesson Model 49 Bodyguard is a compact, double-action/single-action revolver chambered in .38 Special. Introduced in 1959, it features a 5-shot fluted cylinder, a 1.875" barrel, fixed iron sights, and a distinctive humpback frame with a shrouded hammer, designed to prevent snags during concealed carry. ?
This specimen, serial number "J520407," was manufactured between 1970 and 1973. The revolver which was acquired along with about 150 other firearms in multiple collections this month, was inspected for functionality but had not been thoroughly cleaned before images were done. We will do so before shipping. It appears used but should clean to 95%. The only appreciable wear comes from apparent holster usage. The holster wear also accounts for the fact that there may have been some moisture while storage in holster. The right side edge of the muzzle thus picked up some fine corrosion which we have cleaned.
For the buyer who wishes a fine carry weapon this should be a worthy candidate.
