This gun is one of just 353 built in this combination of gauge, grade, barrel steel and barrel length with fewer having ejectors. The gun was completed on November 20, 1923 and originally also had a set of 20ga barrels purchased with it as a set. I had this beautiful gun in South Dakota earlier in the season on a pheasant and Sharptail hunt. She is wonderful to carry and shoots beautifully. At some point in the past this gun underwent a professional sympathetic restoration. The stock and forend have been refinished (wood is still proud of metal) a couple of fine hairline cracks behind the top strap were repaired and the barrels were rust blued. The stock is beautiful with prolific fiddleback throughout. Evidence indicates that the barrels were honed to remove some pitting. There is still evidence of very light pitting as they wanted to maintain safe wall thickness. See specs below for barrel min wall thickness. She is choked at IC and IM, a deadly combination for upland birds. The chambers measure 2 3/4". 25 to 30% remaining of what I believe is original CCH. This is truely a wonderful gun for someone that wants to carry history in to the field and enjoys shooting these lovely pieces of American art. PGCA letter with purchase.
