Listed is a model 1853 British made musket for commercial sales with the lock marked 1861 Tower/Enfield. The stock was made by Yoeman and the barrel proofed by Barret. The rifle is in good condition but the rifling is faint due to use.
This rifles were made to be sold in the states with most going to the south. A nice rifle which probably saw use in the civil. Barret was a major producer of arms for the south.
