Current retail value of gun as equipped with Hofmann grip is approximately $1500, considering the rarity and quality of the grip, and condition. If interested in purchasing, please email an offer to consider. An offer of about $700 plus shipping is likely to be accepted for the pistol with only the OSP 2000 barrel. Phone calls are fine, but due to the number of junk calls received and call filtering, email is better for initial contact. Basis for the offer, including reasons for request of the items as a gift for charitable or other purposes, can be considered.
This gun can be included at no added cost, with purchase of the set of early version GSP and OSP versions, the GSP commemorative gun, or the Hi Standard .22 Short set that also are for sale.
Grip is approx size 9 glove, but has some filler (see arrows in images) so that it would be around size 10-11 once filler is removed. Hofmann grips were superb, and (see images) this one is canted as well for optimal hand position in rapid fire.
The frame can accept .32 magazines, but the grip requires some additional cutting at the rear to accomodate the 32 upper section due to its longer length. The .32 upper sections offered and their magazines will fit this pistol, and can be included with it at significant discount.
A .22 S standard barrel also is available, at extra cost. Shown with 1 magazine at this price, additional magazines are available at extra cost. Please note, several different OSP magazines were made. This gun requires the later one with a front rib, or an added plastic spacer for best operation. The 22s upper section,
Other OSP and GSP are available, including with the standard Walther grips and one with a slightly smaller Hofmann drip. Please inquire if this one is not precisely what is desired.
The trigger unit is the OSP version, which is single stage, and designed for trigger pull adjustments between 2 oz and about 1 lb. The more standard trigger unit, and also the newer 2 stage unit (which does not adjust to a 2 oz level) can be provided or included at extra cost.
The gun will fit one compartment (but not both) of the Walther "James Bond" carrying case, which can be provided at extra cost if desired.
Please note, the price listed is for the gun with grip shown and one magazine. The prior version, longer 22s barrel, extra magazine, and carrying case are available with purchase (not separately) at added cost. FInal price depends on what is desired in the complete purchase. As noted above, the basic gun can be used with the .32 upper section, but either a different grip, or slight recutting of this one, would be needed with the .32 upper section.
Note that the OSP barrel uses upper surface vent holes. These must be closed for the gun to operate with CB rounds, and can be closed progressively to adjust MV and ME of the .22 short rounds. See red arrows in images.
A 22lr GSP barrel should not be used with this upper section unless FP, CB, or other very low velocity .22lr ammunition is used, due to the difference in counterweights and recoil springing.
Shipping varies with state and if the carrying case is desired, but is between $30 and $60 for most US locations.
As a service to collectors and those interested in guns designs, this gun can be included at no added cost with the set of early version GSP and OSP versions. It is a very interesting contrast and comparison to the early guns. magazines, and trigger group also can be used with the commemorative GSP offered in a separate listing.
