Description:
NSN, .45 Caliber, 3" barrels with very good, mildly pitted bores. This is a handsome pistol, made in the turn of the 19th century, that has a tap-action pan allowing for sequential or volley firing of the top and bottom barrels. The barrels have a pleasant, mottled gray patina throughout, with some hints of original blue still visible. The frame has engraved designs on both sides with "DORLEY" maker’s or retailer’s marking on the left side, and "KELSALE" on the right. The tap, frizzen, cock, and sliding safety latch are mottled gray and the action is firm and fully functional. The smooth, bag-shaped walnut grip is in good condition, although there are small handling marks and blemishes throughout. All-iron tap-action pistols are less frequently encountered than the brass pistols, and this example rates very good-near fine overall. Antique;
