Guns by Sally-always the best for less. We are extremely proud to offer this fine example of Winchester's classic double, the model 21. Winchester was late to produce a side by side, but they sure got it right. This is one of the best built, most respected shotguns ever made in the USA. Made in the year of our Lord 1947, she is in great shape for being 78 years old. The blue is fairly strong, silvered out on edges, muzzles, balls of the barrels, and belly of the receiver. The stampings are very good and clear. The nicely figured walnut is simply gorgeous, with sharp checkering and very few flaws. The bores of the 28 inch tubes are also near perfect. She is choked with Winchester's own WS1 and WS2. The WS1 is highly unusual, in that it it begins to restrict, then opens up at the muzzle. It was designed for a good pattern at 20-30 yards. The lever resides to the right of center, and ejectors toss the empties with authority. She has a single selective trigger, and the safety is automatic. The hand filling beavertail forearm is nicely checkered. The icing on the cake is that this is a 12 gauge SKEET model, with a checkered butt, standard. She has drops of 1 5/8 and 2 1/2 inches, and an LOP of 14 inches. Remember to add an inch when comparing to 2 trigger guns. The model 21 is one of the gold standards of the firearm market. Their value is rock solid, and they disappear from the market soon after listing. This is a real Winchester model 21. An old timer once told me, "Never buy a model 21 unless it says Winchester on the barrels." The accompanying charts show the rarity of this grade , making it very desirable.
