Description:
Scarce Remington UMC U.S. Model of 1911 U.S. Army 45 pistol.  Due to W.W. I demand for arms Remington UMC was contracted to manufacture Colt designed Model 1911 pistols.  Around 21,000 were produced 1918-1919.  This pistol is serial number NO6212 made in 1918.  The left side of the slide is marked “PATENTED DEC. 19. 1905 / FEB. 14. 1911. AUG 19. 1913 / COLT’S PT.F.A. MFG. CO.” stacked in three lines;  “REMINGTON UMC” in a circle;  “MANUFACTURED BY / REMINGTON ARMS CO. UMC / BRIDGEPORT. CONN. U.S.A.” stacked in three lines.  Left side of slide marked “Model of 1911 / U.S. ARMY CALIBER 45”.  Left side of frame marked “UNITED STATES PROPERTY”; “E” on front trigger guard bow; “E.E.C.”; “EAGLE /  E28” above magazine release. .  Right side of frame is marked with serial number “NO6212”.  There is a “P” stamped on top of the barrel visible through the ejection port.  Markings are crisp. Magazine is unmarked.
The finish is an old re-blue with scattered freckling and there is some lite pitting under the blue.  Checkered diamond wood grips are dark and un-marked in good condition showing signs of use.  Locks up tight and functions like it should.  Bore is shiny with strong rifling.    Price      $4999.99           C&R
