Description:
26 inch octagon barrel chambered in 44-40 caliber with a bright shiny excellent bore and full length magazine tube. Barrel retains most all of the original blue finish. Mag tube has most all of the blue thinning to a gray/brown. Original sights include a German silver blade front and a sporting rear. Receiver also has most all of its original bright blue. Loading gate also has strong fire blue. Hammer has dark smokey case colors. Nice crisp markings on barrel and upper tang. Smooth action. Checkered straight grip deluxe walnut buttstock and forend remain in very fine condition with most all of the original varnish. Checkering shows some mild wear. Wood fits very well but stock has much more figure than the straight grain forend. Possibly changed at some time would explain the single sling mount. This is a beautiful looking Whitney Kennedy sporting rifle.
