Here is a nice old (made in 1883) Winchester 3rd Model so a genuine antique with no paperwork required. It's all there with nice wood and metal. No rust, cracks and all original with the possible exception of the rear barrel sight which I belive is a Winchester carbine sight. The bore is fair at best, probabl a 5-6 on a 1-10 scale. If I were keeping the rifle it would be a candidate for re-lining. For some one who just wants to pop soda cans it'll do just fine. Interestingly there is no caliber marking on the gun yet all the other lettering is clear and sharp. I think this is a hold-over from the First and Second Models which didn't need a caliber marking as they were all .44-40s (except a few 2nd Models). I've checked with a bore gauge and also ran a .44-40 round through it so I'm not guessing it's a .44-40, it is a .44-40. Every thing works as it should. Shipping and insurance included in the price.
