This is a Winchester Model 1897, 12 Gauge Shotgun in Excellent Condition.
Here is a really great, higher condition 1897. Slam fire action, takedown frame. 12ga 2-3/4" chamber, Factory 28" barrel with a modified choke. Made in 1956. The receiver has a lot of bright original bluing. The barrel is very nice original blue with some light wear. There is very light wear as shown. The bore is bright and shiny. Stocks are nice with some light wear to the varnish. See photos for overall condition. The action cycles well and locks up tight. A very high condition 1897 except that some previous idiot engraved his name on the bottom of the magazine tube (see picture). The engraving is hidden by the forend when the action is closed.
