RARE ANTIQUE SMITH & WESSON No 1 1/2 2nd ISSUE POCKET REVOLVER
If you're looking for an addition to your Smith & Wesson collection, then this antique, rare , classic piece of American firearm history , Smith & Wesson Model 1 ½ 2nd Issue Tip-up barrel .32 pocket revolver might just be what you're looking for. Made between 1868 - 1874 this revolver features a serial number of 120156. Produced approx. 1874-1875. This model was the last of the Tip-Up models to be produced followed by the Top Break models.

condition: The 3 ½“ ribbed tip-up barrel has a bore with scattered oxidation very light pitting within and still showing strong rifling throughout. The metal surfaces still retain about 98% of the original nickel showing just some very minor scratches, freckling and handling marks. A truley beautiful looking revolver. The backstrap was engraved by a previous owner in a very nice script: Arthur A Hollister Hartford CT. ( NOTE: ) I believe this was the son of Nelson Hollister who had multiple bussiness operations in the Hartford area in the middle 1800's He Owned Banks , insurance companies etc and appeared to be very wealthy. Smith and Wesson may have presented to or made this gun with his name engraved to his son Artur N. Hollister born in Dec 28, 1835. ??? The Barrel , Cylinder, and frame are Batched numbered (22) to the gun. The smooth rosewood grips rate very fine with just some light wear along the edges. They are S&W grips that fit excellent but are not stamped-numbered to the gun. Barrel to frame fit is excellent , The gun appears to function very well mechanically The hammer has a strong spring , holds ok in single action but able to be pushed off with a weak trigger spring. Revolver has very good timing and tight cylinder lock-up.
