Guns Listing ID: 531192

SN: 2579. This is a third style (with REISSUE NOV. 9, 1880 barrel marking) Marlin 1881 rifle in 40-60 centerfire caliber. It features a 28\" octagon barrel with a good bore with some areas of erosion. The barrel has a German silver blade front sight and semi-buckhorn rear sight. The barrel has a smooth brown/gray patina. It is marked 40 Cal. The receiver has a smooth blue/brown patina. The magazine tube is gray/brown. The buttstock, with its curved shotgun style buttplate, is good with use dents and dings and a small chip at the left upper tang-receiver intersection. The forearm is good with a well executed full length repair with non-matching wood at the lower right. The action functions correctly. This Marlin 1881 rifle could fill that hole in your collection.
