Features include, 22" tapered extra light barrel, takedown receiver, deluxe, checkered shotgun butt with pistol grip and deluxe checkered forearm. Lyman tang sight. Superbly high condition gun. Original owner said he sent the gun to Doug Turnbull for the restoration work. Beautiful bore, tight action, and tight takedown mechanism. Included is a factory letter confirming most of the features. The missing features I assume were added by Doug Turnbull, but it certainly has the look and feel of a real Winchester takedown receiver to me. Whether Cody firearms museum missed that on the letter search result or Doug Turnbull added it. I would bet money that it is a factory takedown, as I have seen both Marlins and Winchesters that were factory takedowns that did not letter. Regardless, the gun looks and performs like a brand new gun. Oldguns says the gun was made in 1896, but Cody says the gun was made in 1899, so unfortunately it must go to C&R or FFL. $13,750 shipped.
