Description:
Serial #36045, .451 Caliber black powder percussion, 33 inch rifle barrel with a bright, excellent bore. This is an Italian made, Parker-Hale Alexander Henry Model Volunteer rifle featuring a checkered wrist and stock, brass tipped steel ramrod with rubber muzzle guide, and leather sling in the swivels along with a flip up graduated rear military style sight and front "pin head" style. The barrel is marked "Parker-Hale LTD. Birmingham England" and "Alexander Hemry Rifling .451" with lock plate marked "ALEXr HENRY" with crown proof. In excellent condition the barrel and bands retain virtually all, 97-99% of the original blue finish with some light use and handling marks with two fine scratches opposite the hammer. The lock, trigger, screw heads and hammer having comparable amounts of vibrant case-hardened colors with some very minor handling marks. The walnut stock is solid with a very nice Parker-Hale cartouche showing use marks and scattered contusions and scratches and is nicely outfitted with brass trigger guard and butt plate. The action functions smoothly holding at half and full cock. A beautiful example of these later Civil War reproduction Parker-Hale Volunteer Rifles. Antique
