Description:
NSN, .48 Caliber, 1 9/16" barrel with a good, lightly pitted bore. This is a sturdy pistol that has some mottled plum-brown freckling along the barrel. The iron frame has deep Birmingham proofs on the underside, with an overall smooth, dark gray patina, and engraving on the sides and underside of the box frame. The left side has a blank shield and stand of flags motif; while the right side has the same, but with a Union Jack motif on the shield. The bag-shaped walnut grip has a blank oval escutcheon on the back, with fine checkering along the top and inner flats. There are scattered small handling marks and minor surface blemishes throughout. The action is tight and functions flawlessly, including the sliding safety catch along the back.
