Smith & Wesson Model 52 Target .38 Mid Range Wadcutter Stripped Slide. Only the Front Bushing Retainer Pin and Spring are present. It looks like an early production model with the long-flat extractor cut and (? Serial Number) 51680 stamped beneath where the extractor would be. Right Side is marked in one line “PAT’S PENDING” and Left Side is marked “SMITH & WESSON” followed by the Post-War 4-Line Address. Condition appears so good, Bluing looks so bright, and sharp edges feel a bit soft … so, this may be refinished & reblued. We cannot tell for certain, and it is priced accordingly. We believe this is the lowest price for condition early Model 52 Slide presently listed for sale anywhere, - especially because we cannot find any comparable item on the market at present.
