We are extra proud to offer this fine example of a Parker Brothers side by side. This one is very special, as it is an engraved GHE small bore with 30 inch Special Steel tubes and ejectors. Made in the year of our Lord 1921, she is in wonderful condition for being 104 years old. The blue is rich and deep, with the engraving and stampings being exceptionally sharp and clear. Add that to the lever residing to the right of center, and I conclude that this fine shotgun saw little use. The bores of the hard to find 30 inch barrels are full bright. They are choked old school, full and full. The highly figured walnut is simply gorgeous, with very good checkering and a Parker grip cap. LOP to the dog's head butt plate is 14 ¼ inches, with drops of 1 ½ and 2 ½ inches. She is built on a number 1 frame, and weighs less than 6 ½ pounds. Yes, Irene, she matches the description in the Parker book. The safety is automatic, and ejectors toss the empties with authority. The nicely engraved receiver has generous amounts of smoky case color, with a few flashes of blue. The serial number is also stamped on the backside of the trigger guard, and in the trigger guard recess of the stock. Charles Parker made and sold hardware, having his first venture in guns during the Civil War. First, was the Parker & Snow rifle, then the Triplett and Scott near the end of the war. Double barrel shotguns were his focus after the war, and well built high grades were available from the start. These fine American scatter guns have captured the interest of collectors for many decades, with sound investment values. If you have been looking for the right Parker to collect, for investment, or for an old fashioned hunt, but want the added clout of an engraved small bore, then look no further.
